5 FORMULA FOR CALCULATING WEIGHT (METRIC):
5.1 Weight (Kgs.) per 1000 bags = [width (m.m) x length (m.m) x Microns] / 533250
note: Size must include the lip and any gusset material. Above formula does not include any allowance for wrapper or cartons.

5.2 To convert gauge to microns, divide by 4

5.3 To convert ins. to m.m, multiply by 25.4

5.4 To convert lbs. to kg, divide by 2.2046

6 SPECIFYING SIZE:

6.1 Size should always be specified with WIDTH then LENGTH

Carrier Bags

6.2 Punched out or aperture handle style - size includes the handles. Clip close, plastic handle or rope handle - handle extends above the specified size of the bag.

6.3 Vest style - specified size includes handle and skirt weld, top and bottom.

Bags

6.4 Bottom seal bags - the effective length may be shorter than the nominal length, depending on the type and position of the bottom seal.

6.5 Self-seal bar closure ("Minigrip" style) - specifies style is the internal dimensions, full width then depth from below seal strip.

6.6 Lip on low/linear bags - all lips to be specifies separately after the bag dimensions excluding the lip.

6.7 Bottom gussets - measurement to be specified separately and be the full opened out size (not the "dip-in" measurement)

6.8 Side gussets - the size for side gusseted bags should be shown as follows: Face width the face width + 1 overall gusset width then length.

 

7 PACKAGING:

7.1 All materials to be packaged in such a way as to protect the contents from dust, dirt, moisture and contamination.
